We are currently seeking a highly qualified Staff Engineer Mechanical to join our Tech Scouting & Platform Development department in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering design and technical support to e-vapor and similar consumer electronics products. Specific accountabilities include:
  • Developing design concepts and engineering drawings/specifications of e-vapor products, including creation of early prototypes for evaluation and refinement.
  • Leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams on specific aspects of mechanical design and overall aspects of product design.
  • Leading the selection and review of mechanical and related materials to ensure designs utilized in the development of products meet safety and performance requirements and are commercially viable.
  • Maintaining document control of the CAD database and related design files, including organizing and maintaining master records.
  • Fulfilling all requirements applicable to Product Development responsibilities within the Quality Management System.
  • Ensuring device designs meet technical requirements (function, performance, safety)

    Specific Skills

    Qualifications include:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in product design of consumer electronics
  • Awareness of machine design fundamentals (material selection, tolerancing, mech subcomponents etc...)
  • Strong background in CAD based drawing and modeling
  • Good communication skills
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Awareness of project management fundamentals
