Senior Service Engineer

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Service Engineer, are to: 

 

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) by developing service strategies, plans, schematics, manuals, installation guides, service kits, technical communications and tools necessary to provide the global field service force with installation, troubleshooting and product maintenance needs;
  • Ensure global field service team needs are represented during product development and life cycle sustaining;
  • Interface with field service, technical assistance center, sales representatives, customer support, clinical support specialists and end-user-customers as needed to monitor fielded equipment performance and product reliability;
  • Effectively analyze and evaluate monthly warranty and service repair data captured in field service reports. Develop monthly and quarterly field service trend reports and communicate to cross functional technical leaders and executive management;
  • Work with cross-functional technical teams including NPD, Life Cycle Engineering (LCE), Quality, Product Supply and supplier partners to identify failure root causes, recommend robustness solutions and drive continuous improvement to product reliability and the field service processes supporting products.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • 4-7 years of engineering experience in service, manufacturing or designing electro-mechanical systems;
  • Understanding and experience working with electro-mechanical systems including their controls;
  • Experience with PC computer systems, components, interfaces and software;
  • Proven ability to use relevant knowledge across a breadth of technical disciplines and applicable technologies;
  • Excellent trouble-shooting, problem solving, analytical skills, sound judgment and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong communication, networking, and multi-tasking skills;
  • Proven ability to effectively drive change and influence a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Design-for-manufacturing - assembly and service product development experience;
  • Experience working in a regulated or medical device industry;
  • Experience working in field service operations;
  • Understanding of computer network - IT systems;
  • Familiarity with PACS, HIS/RIS, DICOM, and HL/7.
