The Senior Regulatory Affairs Consultant responsible for EPA registration for Small Molecules. It is a critical role in the US organization for the success of the US CropScience business.  The position is accountable for leading multifunctional teams in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to obtain and maintain license to operate from EPA for key assets.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Regulatory Affairs Consultant, are to:

 

• Provide leadership to the US organization in the understanding, interpretation and compliance with all federal and state pesticide laws and regulations as they relate to the production and use of products in the US;

• Lead multifunctional teams tasked with the development of regulatory strategies to obtain registrations of new products, and to defend existing registration for the US portfolio.  Manage the delivery of regulatory strategy to support the lifecycle of the asset;

• Maintain total knowledge of the US and regulatory status for the product being managed, and have complete understanding of the Global registration conditions for these products;

• Represent the Registration team on internal work streams, and represent Bayer on external industry work group working to address regulatory policies of consequences to our agriculture business;

• Keep up with regulatory issues that can impact the ability to obtain and maintain license to operate and to sell in the US, and to provide guidance to our organization in making recommendations in advance to anticipate regulatory pressure;

• Ensure senior management is aware of the status of registration projects taking the necessary actions towards the business' needs;

• Act as the point of contact for Regulatory Agencies for asset(s) being managed;

• Steers the compilation of high quality registration dossiers on time for major markets in close collaboration with other BCS functions;

• Manages, plans, budgets and executes delivery of all regulatory studies in close contact with Development experts.

the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as entomology, chemistry, plant pathology or related with 8 years of relevant experience related to pesticides or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience;

• In depth knowledge of 40 CFR Part158, PRIA, FIFRA and FFDCA including data compensation policies and procedures;

• Experience in development and submission of registration dossiers to EPA;

• In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and requirements for submission of registration applications and other regulatory dossiers;

• A good understanding of all regulatory relevant scientific subjects;

• In-depth knowledge and understanding in agronomic industry business and competitive landscape;

• Shows ability to apply principles of precedents to new situations and anticipate how government personnel would analyze relevant factors;

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;

• Strong interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience in herbicide registration is preferred.
