The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for conducting periodic reviews of IT activities for the Company, its subsidiaries and other affiliates to provide assurance to Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors that established policies and procedures are properly applied. This objective extends to assisting the management of the Company and audit locations to attain effective controls at a reasonable cost. The employee also performs special reviews as requested by senior management. All Colgate Audit activities should be conducted in compliance with Company policies and objectives and must adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors. These audits encompass the Company’s Shared Service Organizations, the Enterprise Service Center and the Information Technology operations of the Company’s subsidiaries and other affiliates. The overall objective is to provide assurances to Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors that established IT policies and procedures from the conduct of business are properly applied and operate effectively. In developing an understanding of the Company’s overall information technology position, the Senior Auditor-IT will need the skill sets possessed by the “traditional” information technology auditor, as well as a good understanding of the SAP applications employed by the Company.  This position will require about 30% overnight travel to various Colgate subsidiary and affiliate locations which will include both international and domestic travel.

 

“Traditional” Audit skills will be required in assessing:

  • System backup and disaster recovery
  • System access and information security
  • Program change management
  • General computer control environment
  • Network configuration and security
  • Information Technology operations

 

Specialized knowledge of SAP is critical due to the system’s far-reaching integrated nature.  Issues related specifically to SAP include:

  • Control issues raised by configuration and design decisions
  • Business process controls, including access to transactions and system security
  • Latest cyber security threats, due to the challenging and ever changing nature of IT risk (be able to apply that knowledge to help identify potential risks to the company)

 

The scope of the work to be performed is Audit planning and preparation including:

  • Development of the audit scope and focus plus assignment of staff responsibilities during the audit
  • Review of the previous audit report, work papers and implementation status of the findings and recommendations
  • Discussions with Global Information Technology, Division and Corporate personnel involved in the specific areas of their assignments
  • Reviews of any IT or other reports from the location
  • Meeting with location management
  • Determine, in conjunction with the IT Audit Manager, the adequacy of IT controls to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures. He/she must also determine compliance with local laws and government regulations in addition to the reliability and integrity of IT operations and financial information.
  • Ensure that audit procedures performed are adequate and effective to support audit findings and conclusions derived
  • Initial drafting of the audit report and findings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Business, or related major required
  • 4-5 years of experience in Information Technology auditing or equivalent industry experience
  • Proficiency in MS Windows Suite Softwares including MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of SAP software required
  • Willingness and ability to conduct overnight business travel about 30% of the time to both domestic and international locations
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor certification preferred
  • Flexible, innovative, and self-motivated team player
  • Strong analytical, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to examine a function to determineoptimal perfomance and if necessary, to devise and recommend more efficient methods for completing the tasks involved.
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures in reaching a conclusion as to the adequacy of internal controls.
  • Ability to communicate technical information systems issues as well as the potential consequences of identified risks with non-IT personnel.
