Regulatory Archivist

Monsanto is seeking a Regulatory Archivist to join our Regulatory Global Quality Systems team. The overall responsibility of the Regulatory Archivist is to administer the daily activities of an established GLP and Quality Management System compliant archiving system in compliance with the EPA regulations, Monsanto Guidelines for Research Records, and Industry standards as defined by standard operating procedures.

The Regulatory Archivist will work with multiple functions in the Regulatory and Product Chemistry organizations (Scientists, Statisticians, Regulatory Affairs Managers, and Project Managers) to provide various services and information which may include but are not limited to study number generation, report number generation, project and master schedule maintenance, report processing, and data archiving of both internal and externally produced data supporting Monsanto products. The Regulatory Archivist has a unique opportunity to be a part of a larger team, developing and implementing strategies to better manage the organization’s records in a compliant manner. This individual will also be responsible to ensure all paper and electronic records are retained during the life of the product, are readily retrievable, protected, and stored in a secure manner.

Responsibilities include:
• Carrying out activities in a scientific archive for documents and specimens generated under GLP and other Quality Management Systems
• Handling receipt, verification, and archiving of data and specimens involved in scientific studies utilizing a computerized system
• Ensuring reporting documents are made available internally through various electronic systems reports and maintaining the integrity and retrievability of historical data
• Providing customer support to Quality Management System personnel and Regulatory personnel, and assist with special projects such as product divestitures and research requests
• Serving in a customer-focused role to support the Regulatory organization by maintaining research data in a secure and readily-accessible manner
• Receiving, verifying, and archiving data from external sources, supporting improvement projects in the Archives, and supporting Quality Assurance during agency inspections of on-site facilities and contract research organizations
• Fostering interactions between functional groups for overall record management improvement; act as a resource to Regulatory personnel with respect to understanding record retention policies


Required Education & Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences such as Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
• Minimum of one or more years of record management experience
• Working knowledge of laboratory operations
• Strong MS Office skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to work in a diverse, team environment and negotiate and influence others
• Process-oriented with demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment through positive interactions with scientists from diverse disciplines

Desired Education & Skills/Experience:
• Experience with GLP, ISO, or similar quality management systems
• Prior experience with process improvement
