Wholesale Division - International Line of Business - International Portfolio and Program Management Group

The Portfolio and Program Management Group (PPMG) is looking for a Senior Project Manager. This position will report to the lead for Global Transaction Banking workstream within the Wholesale International Program.

Responsible for leading project teams and managing all activities in a project life-cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) associated with high visibility projects that are long-term, across one or more lines of business and carry a substantial impact to the relevant businesses.

  • Interacts with senior leadership and major stakeholders to establish strategic plans and objectives for programs or projects
  • Consults with business partners to clarify and define complex project requirements, budgets and business cases, including statements of work
  • Creates and delivers presentations on program or project goals and plans, including progress reports
  • Responsible for end to-end program or project management, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end
  • Develops and implements program and project level processes, procedures and performance metrics
  • May be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing outside vendors
  • Typically manages a family or series of projects associated with a specific business strategy to obtain benefits and controls
  • Ensures program/project-related risks are managed according to the Project Management Policy. Leads project staff, including training and providing input to performance evaluations
  • May directly manage 1 or 2 project staff team members

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience

  • Leads a series of projects to deliver capabilities related to the Global Transaction Banking projects
  • Responsible for leading project teams and managing all activities in the project life-cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) associated with high visibility projects that are long-term, across one or more lines of business and carry a substantial impact to the relevant businesses
  • Interacts with senior leadership and major stakeholders to establish project objectives
  • Consults with business partners to define and clarify project business cases, budgets, scope, requirements and dependencies
  • Responsible for end-to-end program or project management, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end
  • Leads project team meetings
  • Develops and implements detailed project plans, manages cross-functional team to the critical path and collaborates with owner of Wholesale International Program Integrated Plan to ensure consistency of metrics across program
  • Implements project controls, including management of project finances and understanding of variance to plan
  • Ensures project-related risks are managed according to PPMG standard, and leads resolution of issues
  • Tracks all risks, issues, decisions needed or made, and action items for transparency to all project stakeholders
  • May be responsible for sourcing, negotiating with and managing outside vendors
  • Creates and delivers presentations on program or project goals and plans, including progress reports
