The Consumer Lending team includes Home Lending, Personal Lending, and Dealer Services, including the professional services teams that partner with these businesses and other key partners.

Our Default Servicing team engages, understands and advises consumer real estate customers of available solutions to resolve mortgage delinquencies.

This position will lead the Customer Contact & Default Decisioning (CC&DD) Regulatory Program Group in our CC&DD Project Management Office. The primary focus of this team is implement regulatory and investor directives that are horizontal in nature within CC&DD business units.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Setting high level strategy on business, product, and customer service needs
  • Analyzing profitability, policy, programs and staffing to ensure optimal business results
  • Initiating and directing complex projects, including those managed by others
  • Directing project staff; working with multiple groups to identify requirements, develop project plans and strategies
  • Prepare business cases, assign tasks and meet deadlines amid shifting priorities
  • Influencing and negotiating with senior management; managing task forces
  • Overseeing project control and related risks
  • Interfacing with high level users to define needs and issues
  • Managing the creation of user training
  • Managing budget/forecasting
  • Developing and/or authorizing policies/procedures/controls within scope of project to optimize results while ensuring compliance with government regulations and enterprise policies
  • May lead a team of managers with direct reports
  • Proven ability to onboard new hires
  • Collaborate effectively with external and internal customers
  • Highly proficient with MS Office, Project, Visio, Live Meeting, and SharePoint. Proficient with Project Management System of Record software
  • Technical knowledge leveraged in a business environment
  • Led others to positively accept changes in the organization


Candidates for this position are expected to be able to perform the following:

  • Manage a team of project resources located at various Wells Fargo locations
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews
  • Lead staffing process which includes the use of staff management and online recruiting systems
  • Experience managing exempt and non-exempt team members, as well as knowledge of state specific requirements


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Extensive knowledge and utilization of project management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group at all levels including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Advanced negotiating experience, facilitation, leadership and organizational skills
  • Expertise in bridging differences between all parties at all levels of the organization to come to an agreed upon compromise that helps the business move forward
  • Advanced ability to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources; reconcile conflicts break-down high-level information into details
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with various levels of leadership to solution problems and develop strategies
  • Strong ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Proficient in resource management (e.g., capacity , administrative, performance)
  • Demonstrate ability to coach, mentor and develop all members
  • 4-year degree
  • Proficient with Project Management System of Record software
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Proficient at creating and delivering presentations on program or project goals and plans, including status reports to senior managers
  • Proficient at responding to special requests
  • Proficient at managing aggressive deadlines in response to high-profile/high visibility requests
  • Experience managing virtual team members
  • Proven ability to learn quickly
  • Proficient in analyzing data and summarizing results
  • Experience in managing matrixed teams


Job Expectations

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
