Project Controls Schedule Analyst, Sr

Description About the Position: Responsible for creating work breakdown structure and building and maintaining cost and resource loaded schedules in Primavera P6 v7.0 or higher on assigned projects and programs in accordance with the National Grid project management processes and perform other duties assigned by management. Closely work with project managers, functional managers and provide assistance with meeting project/program goals/objectives. This position may be responsible for reviewing work performed by others and perform as a subject matter expert on project and program scheduling issues. This position will need some experience working in the utility/gas complex construction business since review of schedules produced by EPC contractors and providing regular feedback working with the construction and project manager will be required. Excellent people skills and ability to work well with others in a fast paced construction environment is a must. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Create and Maintain project and program project scheduling structure and perform as a P6 admin setting up and giving user rights and other complex functions Experience in gas and utility construction business and ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to understand and approve/accept schedules produced by EPC contractors Review CPM cost and resource loaded schedules created and provided by EPC and third part contractors and provide timely feedback in a standardized format logging and reporting key details in a report to management. Create and Maintain project delivery information in Primavera P6 establishing and reporting project forecasts across the portfolio for PM&CC. Assess gaps and key requirements for meeting construction schedules and report to management Meet monthly with Project Managers for project delivery dates update. Periodically running meetings with Project Managers or evaluating the schedule to ensure that project delivery changes do not impact the overall portfolio. Work with Project and Construction Manager to assess and approve all change requests for all projects within the portfolio. Evaluate and report on all project change requests. Participate in monthly meetings to ensure project changes and variances are addressed. Provide reporting as required by the manager and represent project controls within the project management team. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: At least 5 years or more experience in gas utility, construction or engineering industry desired. Excellent knowledge of MS Office products is required. High proficiency in working with scheduling software Primavera P6. Knowledge of Power Plant and SAP is desired. Proven ability to work as part of a team. Proven problem solving and analytical skills capabilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to analyze and investigate a project conflict and determine the impact to the portfolio. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history required. Qualifications Required: BS in Finance or Engineering or equivalent experience. Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with the ability to solve complex problems. Ability to administer, analyze, interpret, create, initiate, resolve and implement corporate policies, operating practices and procedures. Proficient skills in the use of a variety of computer software including the proven ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets, schedules (in Primavera P6) and use other standardized databases required to be performed within this role. Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects of significant scope. Ability to research, compile, coordinate, schedule, review, document, organize, verify data and conduct independent complex analysis, and identify inconsistencies. Demonstrate excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and statistics, evaluate, produce complex reports and make recommendations based on independent complex analysis. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally to the organization; may include presentation skills. May act in a lead role for project/work assignment by providing guidance and/or direction to more junior level analysts.
