Bayer U.S. LLC’s RTP, NC, office seeks a Procurement Specialist – Transportation / Warehousing / Distribution to handle strategic sourcing and supplier management activities within the Transportation/Warehousing/Distribution category.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Bayer U.S. LLC’s RTP, NC, office seeks a Procurement Specialist – Transportation / Warehousing / Distribution, are to: 

  • building relationships with key stakeholders and identify areas of opportunity for further value creation;
  • the supply of all related materials/product/services at right quality in time and at competitive costs for areas of responsibility;
  • supplier selection and the ongoing supplier management; and
  • strategic initiatives and manages sourcing projects that increase value.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field;
  • two (2) years of experience in a procurement position in the crop science industry; 
  • Microsoft Suite (especially Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Project); 
  • analyzing total cost of ownership structures for area(s) of responsibility to develop better and/or innovative pricing models (e.g. performance- or indices-based pricing); 
  • developing extensive spend analysis (Excel, Access) and develop overarching category plans to drive EBIT related savings and other financial value; 
  • procurement strategy development and implementation;
  • identifying, evaluating, and developing new sources of supply to improve the company's competitiveness; 
  • supply chain management principles, such as Production Planning, Purchasing, Forecasting, and Logistics; 
  • SAP PBC/PMD/B56/PCS modules; 
  • coordinating with various sites to identify suppliers and secure necessary contracts for labor/supply as well as evaluate supplier performance; 
  • project management processes services/operations, maintenance, and procurement/supply chain services; and 
  • Business Systems, including SAP enterprise systems, Ariba, Contract Management Systems.
