Job Summary:

A Principal Product Manager is a highly Product focused role with excellent communication and technical skills.  The role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with various Product domains, Sales departments, and Biz Dev teams across Cox Automotive for the Sales and Finance and Insurance (F&I) Solutions.

A primary focus will be to assist new business generation efforts by communicating our capabilities and managing expectations with potential clients. Activities include frequent communication with customers regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, roadmaps, services, contract negotiation, and coordination for custom or unique solutions.

Your Role:

  • Demonstrate all aspects of our solutions to prospects and clients, focusing on audience needs, requirements solicitation, and solution features and benefits.
  • Support the ‘Sales F&I’ vision of delivering a suite of integrated technologies by establishing a complete workflow among all solutions to prospects and current clients.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales teams, prospects, customers, and other team members in the pre-sale and solutioning stages of projects.
  • Use strong technical understanding of customer needs, market trends and available technologies to identify opportunities and assist in the creation of differentiating products.
  • Assist in preparation of system quotes with sales (when custom solutions are applicable).
  • Act as liaison between Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams as needed.
  • Assist sales team members in structuring proposals, including timelines, installation staffing and solution configuration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide regular internal team updates, team training, and stakeholder leadership reports.
  • Track all sales opportunities and project statuses. Provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and track support enhancement cases to improve customer experience.
  • Suggest and influence appropriate new strategies/products (based on client input).
  • Gather and maintain competitive information, stay in touch with car dealership needs, and identify areas for continued product growth.


Qualifications

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical major preferred.
  • In-depth retail and/or automotive retail product knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales and/or key account management and project management, preferably with OEM accounts and/or in the automotive retail industry.
  • Ability to learn software solutions quickly in a formal training setting.
  • Strong familiarity with agile product development and launch processes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with fellow team members, management, and clients.
  • Experience in building presentations that demonstrate conceptual designs.
  • Clearly document any key or unique client problems including expected results and a clearly articulated approach for the solution.
  • Live software presentation skills.
  • Organized and time management skills.
  • Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals. Must be able to handle conflict and work through stressful situations in a respectful and positive manner to all partners.
  • Aptitude to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and Canada.  Travel 30-40%.
