Marketing and Public Relations Assistant

 

STARTING DATE:  November, 2017

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A minimum of an Associate’s degree or the equivalent with an emphasis in marketing or a related field such as journalism, public relations, or business; experience using current Microsoft Office applications; experience using social media; the ability to effectively communicate, multi-task, meet schedules, and accommodate change; the ability to plan, organize and complete tasks within deadlines during time sensitive situations.

 

DUTIES:  The Marketing and Public Relations Assistant is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the College’s marketing and public relations efforts including providing appropriate and timely content on social media. 

 

SALARY: Compensation will be on the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College local Salary Schedule L at a rate of $13.50 per hour for a maximum of 19 hours per week.

A completed application packet consists of:

  A letter of application,

  A current résumé,

  A completed official College employment application,

  Two letters of reference,

 Copies of all relevant postsecondary transcripts.  Transcript copies must show the identification of the institution, the identification of the applicant, and verify that the applicant has received the minimum degree requirements as stated in the “Required Qualifications” section.  The person chosen to fill the position is required to furnish official transcripts prior to the completion of the first semester of employment.
