The Enterprise Counterparty Risk Management (ECRM) organization within Corporate Credit & Market Risk is responsible for governance and oversight of Counterparty Credit Risk Management across the Wells Fargo Enterprise for capital markets traded products. Key activities include ensuring a sound counterparty credit risk management framework and infrastructure exists to approve, price, identify, measure, aggregate, and report this exposure throughout the firm. Specialized teams exist to focus on specific risk generating LOB’s (FCM, Prime Services, Fixed Income, Equities, etc.), Governance, Oversight, Underwriting, Stress Testing/Capital, Risk Architecture, and Data Management

The Prime Services Risk Management (Prime Services Risk) operates within the ECRM division. Prime Services Risk is responsible for ensuring that assumed levels of counterparty risk are controlled through margin policies and procedures implemented through the Prime Services Margin policy. In addition to implementing Risk Margin policy, Prime Services Risk is responsible for day to day risk management and reporting, analyzes counterparty balance and leverage trends and maintains the relevant risk measurement systems used for disseminating reports to senior management. Prime Services Risk also contributes to several client facing initiatives including educating clients on Risk and Financing policy. Prime Services Risk monitors activity within WFPS to ensure adherence/compliance to risk management policy and procedures.

The Wells Fargo Prime Services (WFPS) business unit provides prime brokerage, clearance, securities lending and financing services to institutional clients and broker-dealers. Prime Services operates Wells Fargo Securities Division (WFS).

Responsibilities for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Contribute to the day to day risk management of Prime Services business line
  • Review daily portfolio margin reports, generate client portfolio reviews and ad-hoc risk analysis
  • Liaise with Prime Services sales, account managers, and credit officers in managing existing and prospective clients
  • Work with IT on designing and streamlining risk reporting processes
  • Escalate/resolve client risk and margin issues
Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, or capital markets

Desired Qualifications

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: risk management, securities analysis, consulting
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of equity, fixed income and option valuation, portfolio risk analysis, VaR (Value at Risk)
  • Degree in finance is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with prime brokerage business functions, hedge funds, and methods for risk margining client portfolios
  • Knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming skills
