Job Description

The Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG) provides direct risk reporting for all mark-to-market assets within Wells Fargo; including Fixed Income, Equities, Municipals, Principal Investing, and other activities. This team also works with Front Office, Market Risk Officers, Finance, Technology, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure that risk reporting is accurate and complete.

CMRG is seeking an outstanding Market Risk Reporting Consultant with strong analytical skills and high attention to detail to provide market risk reporting for the Equity Sales & Trading and Municipal Products businesses. This position is a VP level opportunity and is focused primarily on Equity Sales & Trading and Municipal Products within the Markets Division of Wells Fargo Securities. This individual will also provide support to colleagues in both CMRG and CMRO (Corp. Market Risk Oversight) covering other business/product areas.

Responsibilities for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Producing and reviewing reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis for the Equity Sales & Trading and Municipal Products businesses
  • Monitoring, reporting, analyzing, and communicating with MROs, Management Reporting Team, Technology, and other constituents of market risk infrastructure
  • Maintaining and creating reporting templates
  • Participating in the end-of-day senior management reporting process
  • Creating and maintaining data verification tools/reports and improved processes with Technology and others to correct any errors in overnight processing
  • Reviewing data and commentary for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
  • Understanding and applying formatting standards across all relevant reports
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests for data and/or presentations from MROs, senior managers, regulators, auditors, front office, and other sources.
  • Provide assistance to other CMRO team members and the business areas they cover.
Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, or capital markets

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk measures and calculations ( dv01, delta, vega, gamma)

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to interact effectively and confidently with the front office and senior management
  • Strong technical skills across a variety of technologies and platforms (RDBMS, SQL, Python/R, VB)
  • Familiarity with pricing and risk measurement calculations such as VaR, Stress, statistical distributions and pricing models, sensitivity measures, and Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Experience partnering with a wide range of business partners; including traders and trading
  • Knowledge of Basel 2-3, Dodd-Frank, OCC/FED/SEC regulations.
  • Extensive data management experience including complex SQL queries, automation of data pipelines, automation of data access and manipulation.
  • Experience in using Bloomberg, SQL Server, API development.
  • Master’s degree in finance, math, economics, statistics, computer science, or engineering preferred.
  • CFA / FRM / PRM designations preferred.
