Local Sales Manager II - Cox Media


Role SummaryThe Local Sales Manager, Cox Media leads a field sales team that sells marketing solutions to Cox Media customers within their local market.  Coordinates the prospecting, sale, service and account assignment of clients.  Primary objective is to meet or exceed revenue goals through a team-based, consultative approach to sales. Works in office setting most of the time but must also drive personal vehicle locally; occasional overnight travel is required. Part of a budget-driven, sales organization with pressure to meet ambitious sales goals.  Rapidly changing, fast-paced environment that requires facilitation with multiple internal partners.1-Maximizes revenue from all revenue categories including national, local and regional spots.2-Provides leadership and vision to develop a strong sales culture.3-Selects, manages and develops a high performance sales team that sells advertising.4-Organizes and plans day to day strategies to motivate, coach and counsel the Cox Media advertising sales team.5-Leads and oversees all sales activities to ensure revenue and growth objectives are met.6-Provides decision support backup for the GM on strategic sales decisions.7-Monitors /analyzes sales performance, and takes budget accountability for driving improvements in sales/revenue growth, sales productivity, sales quality and optimization of customer satisfaction.8-Leads, designs and delivers training and job aides to supplement the sales training program. Monitor the effectiveness of training techniques, job aides and internal communications systems for sales related matters.


Typical Training / Experience - Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline; some disciplines may only require Associates degree. Generally 3 to 5 years experience in related field.
