Corporate Risk

Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk areas including credit risk, operational risk, market risk, strategic risk, and compliance risk. Corporate Risk strives to ensure that all Wells Fargo corporate functions and lines of business soundly manage risk, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and offer products and services that meet the needs of our customers. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, Corporate Risk provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

International Risk Operations and Shared Services (IROSS)

The IROSS Business Functional Manager 3 role will work closely and report directly to the Head of IROSS and help support the Group Risk Officer-International. As the IROSS Chief Operating Officer (CCO), you will lead IROSS’ operations and core shared services in day-to-day business management, strategic planning and administration. You will also be responsible for leading management teams in establishing practices and delivering services including management of business initiatives, issue management and audit/exam management.

The IROSS COO will be responsible for the following:

Strategy & Planning:

  • Governance of IROSS’ strategic planning and initiatives as well as the management of strategic and change initiatives.
  • Oversight for and measurement of IROSS’ strategic priorities to ensure key milestones are met.

Business Management:

Direct the Chief Administration Office in the following:

  • FTE/Budget Expense tracking and reporting including project spend.
  • Staff Management Activities
  • Facilitate required risk training and coordinate adherence.
  • Manage facilities.
  • Manage Business Continuity Planning
  • Maintain SharePoint sites and foster the use of IROSS’ SharePoint site as well as assisting risk partners with developing advanced SharePoint functionality.
  • Manage Technology equipment inventory

Project Management

  • Direct the Project Management Office in the development of the International project management methodology, process, tools and templates.
  • Support execution of corporate initiatives and major / complex International Risk initiatives that span multiple regions and risk types.

Issue Management

  • Provide input to the Corporate Issue Management Policy
  • Lead the development and implementation of issues management processes, procedures, tools, reporting and governance across International.

Audit and Regulatory Exam Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of Audit and Regulatory Exam Management practices across International.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of international banking experience
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • 12+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: business process, quality assurance, strategic planning, or project management

  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting and building processes and output to comply with complex requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective in communicating across a variety of audiences and constituencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement effective strategies and centrally manage risks, in collaboration with risk groups/lines of business and support functions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading effective organizations, including attracting, mentoring, retaining and promoting talented and productive staff.
  • Ability to discern risk and influence risk management practices
  • Working knowledge of Wells Fargo international banking businesses.
  • Experience interacting with regulators.
