Instructional Coordinator, Adult Education


SALARY: See Position Description OPENING DATE: 10/10/17 CLOSING DATE: 10/24/17 02:00 PM JOB SUMMARY:

Under the oversight of the Director of Adult Education, the employee manages the instructional program of the Department. Employee supervises Instructors, providing training and professional development opportunities. Employee evaluates each Instructor and classroom site providing guidance for improvement in deficient areas. Employee also develops and updates the program curriculum in accordance with state policies and departmental objectives. Employee assists the Director with budgeting, program marketing, and program inventory.

POSTING DATE: October 10, 2017

SALARY: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E2, 02 (range: $43,077 - $57,014).  This position involves performance duties for a federally funded project and is contingent on continued federal funding. In the event that funds for this position are discontinued or significantly reduced or if federal requirements for funding this project no longer include this position, the College shall have the right to discontinue the position. Neither tenure or non-probationary status may be attained in this position.

ANTICIPATED START DATE:  November 27, 2017

The position will be based initially at the Center for Economic and Workforce Development in Dothan. 

More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process.

  1. Possession of a bachelor's degree in education or educational content area, social work, human services, or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  2. Experience in data analysis is required
  3. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required.
  4. Experience working in an Adult Education, Education, and/or Family Literacy Program, teaching, tutoring, student advising or counseling in an education setting is required. 
  5. Possession of a current and valid driver's license is required.
  6. Ability to work non-standard and overtime hours to include weekends is required.
  7. Ability to travel to class sites and provide professional development is required.
  8. Previous classroom experience in adult education in a secondary or post-secondary environment is preferred.
