Information Systems Parts Logistics Manager

Who we're looking for
The Information Systems Parts Logistics Manager reports to the Senior Manager - Distribution and Logistics and is responsible for the Toyota Parts Logistics portfolio of systems.
This portfolio includes TLMS-G, FVM, LIOS, VPACS, SKETCH, Logistic Billing, Logistics Portal & Route Planning. Strong requirement to understand the Parts Logistics business unit located in Plano, Texas. The position will serve as the manager of a group of 3-5 individual contributors and an outsource team.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter, detail oriented, with excellent management and communication skills as well as an interest supply chain management. A team-oriented individual who possesses exceptional analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills is needed.

What you'll be doing
  • Manage day-to-day operations by organizing, integrating, and coordinating resources (people and budget).
  • Take full accountability for the work performance of the responsible sub-function(s)
  • Establish clear priorities among operational tasks and projects; allocate and manage resources effectively
  • Combine conceptual understanding with broad applied experience and provide seasoned functional expertise, high-level analytical, interpretative, evaluative, and/or constructive advice
  • Ensure the operational activities and services support departmental and organizational objectives and goals
  • Be current on the latest industry developments and trends to help lead the development of system/process improvements
  • Lead a project team and develop and implement one or more key technology projects and initiative(s)
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of effectively navigating the organization through collaborating and interacting with stakeholders to achieve results
  • Make sourcing decisions using trade-off analysis and the established sourcing strategy guidelines
  • Manage vendor relationships, including vender selection, contract negotiation, and performance assessment
  • Manage problem resolution processes from beginning to end by identifying and defining issues and developing solutions that support department and organization objectives
  • Actively support the department's change management efforts
  • Advocate department's activities and services to the organization

What you bring
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Supply Chain knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the following technologies
  • Languages: Java 1.5 and above
  • J2EE: Struts, JSP, J2EE application stack technologies, XML processing Web Services
  • ORM: Hibernate or similar ORM
  • UI: JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, jQuery, CSS and HTML
  • UI frameworks: Twitter bootstrap
  • DB: Oracle
  • Application Server: WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat
  • Tools: Eclipse or similar IDEs, Toad or Oracle SQL Developer
  • Demonstrated functional work experience in the related area/s
  • Supervisory experience
  • High-level communication skills to influence and persuade others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management
  • Proven experience in AGILE/SCRUM software development methodologies
