Human Resources Business Partner, Global Corporate Affairs

Monsanto, HR Business Partner, Global Corporate Affairs: This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR partnership for the Global Corporate Affairs organization – which is a critical function in Monsanto's Global Technology (R&D) organization. The HRBP for Monsanto’s Global Corporate Affairs will provide HR guidance and support to Corporate Engagement, Government - State & Local Affairs, as well as Monsanto Regulatory businesses. The successful candidate will provide leadership for all functional HR activities, working closely with business leadership by providing HR expertise, acting as a strategic partner on all key HR initiatives, employee relations and employee/leadership development activities. In addition, this position will require strategic influence and must work collaboratively with HR colleagues across Monsanto.
Scope / Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Gain a clear understanding of current and future business strategies in order to influence the Global Corporate Affairs People Strategy and implement an effective people plan.
  • Demonstrate active leadership during organizational change efforts.
  • Develop effective coaching relationships with key business leaders.
  • Apply HR knowledge and skills to effectively drive business practices and resolve people issues.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and consultation to people managers.
  • Foster accountability for employee development and performance by ensuring training/goal - setting and recognition plans/programs are in place.
  • Ensure effective leadership and operational excellence of all basic HR processes including performance reviews, incentive planning and talent reviews/succession planning.
  • Partner with appropriate HR specialist teams to deliver HR excellence. This includes Talent Acquisition, Global Talent & Organizational Change (GTOC), Compensation and Benefits.
  • Provide counsel and assist employees and people managers in resolving complex or controversial Human Resource problems, including disciplinary counseling, legal issues and terminations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion as well as people development efforts

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required. MBA or Masters degree in Human Resources, Organization Psychology or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources required
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of continuous learning and application of HR policies/procedures, as well as local, state and federal employment laws
  • Previous HR Generalist experience preferred
  • Functional knowledge of HR practices, policies, practices, and programs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Experience working with professionals in communications, government affairs, and scientific roles is preferred.
  • Previous work experience supporting leadership, and their teams; to provide strategic insights to help drive their business towards innovation and success, is an asset.
  • Experience coaching and providing leadership development across multiple levels
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions and countries would be helpful. This candidate will have a solid understand that by combining diverse viewpoints and thought leadership creates better solutions.
  • Agility and ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced, environment. Ability to work comfortably in ambiguity and influence all levels of the organization
