Graduate Development Program (January) – Associate Analyst, Revenue Cycle Management Project Mgmt.

Description About the Graduate Development Program National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is the company’s flagship pipeline program, targeting recent college graduates joining the company in entry-level full time positions. The GDP is designed to prepare early career professionals for future leadership roles within the organization, aims to support Graduates in developing as leaders, guide their career, and increase their business talents and skills. It provides opportunities for Graduates to explore a broad range of disciplines across our functions and locations, work on a variety of projects, and expand their network.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an 8-week Orientation. Graduates will spend time learning the core functions of the business, networking with our Executive team, and traveling to our different jurisdictional areas. By the end of Orientation, Graduates have an in depth understanding of who National Grid is as a company and how we do business. They have also formed a network with their fellow Graduates as well as senior business leaders, key GDP stakeholders and GDP Alumni. Graduates also take part in quarterly development sessions with their cohort as well as complete a Capstone Project at the end of their first year with the company. About the Position: The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering process improvements within our Meter to Cash end to end process. (e.g. Account Initiation, Billing, Payment Processing, Credit & Collections, etc) and support the Billing and Credit & Collections Strategy leadership team by leveraging the overall Performance Excellence Strategy. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to analyze and improve processes using Lean methodology. The candidate facilitates the analysis, design, and implementation of process improvements, as well as acts as a liaison with all levels of management and staff during the process improvement lifecycle. This role also involves strong project management and project leadership skills. Project and Program Management The role will include managing and facilitating teams on small to large projects to drive efficiency and value for the business functions it supports. Responsibilities include: Manage small to large projects through to delivery. Ability to craft & deliver presentations to management level. Organizing and facilitating workshops to define issues and develop solutions. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): . Assist with the identification of process improvement opportunities. Quantify financial opportunities and benefits offered by process improvement projects. Provide process focused analytics support to business process and performance teams. Interact with senior leadership and subject matter experts to develop solutions that improve process performance by increasing productivity and efficiency and/or managing process demand while enhancing the customer experience. Develop an understanding of the operational work being performed and associated processes and garner the respect of employees Drive high quality results. Ensure deployment of common solutions across the business. Identify and present new project opportunities to leadership. Develop and share best practices among organization. Inspire confidence and lasting change throughout organization during process improvements. Conduct data collection and analysis to support process improvements to reduce cost and complexity across the enterprise while driving efficiencies. Draft and review project deliverables and analysis such as value-stream mapping and statistical analysis. Responsible for mobilizing and managing project teams and delivering tangible business benefits. Ongoing regular engagement, with teams and leaders, to sustain the journey of delivering performance excellence and achieving lasting behavioral change. Support & facilitate small to medium projects to deliver cross-business efficiencies, benefits and change. Qualifications Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution Concentration in academic studies relevant to one of the career paths Graduated between December 2016 and December 2017 Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; official college transcript required for confirmation Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and is effective in all manner of presentation settings (i.e. one to one, groups, peers and leadership). Lean methodology or project management experience is a preferred, IASSC Lean Black Belt Certificated a plus Project Management PMP Certification a plus Change Management experience Ability to think strategically and identify critical success factors when developing strategy and plans for assigned area of responsibility. Ability to establish a high level of confidence with all stakeholders. Ability to build and sustain productive and collaborative relationships and motivate in an effective manner. Experience working with and influencing key stakeholders. Possess strong problem solving, communication skills (both oral & written). Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Access and other business software Minitab or other statistical tool is a plus VBA or other programming language is plus Preference given to candidates with relevant internship experiences Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program January 8, 2018 Proven leadership experience in at least one of the following: College leadership position (e.g., student government, clubs, athletics).
