Description About the Graduate Development Program National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is the company’s flagship pipeline program, targeting recent college graduates joining the company in entry-level full time positions. The GDP is designed to prepare early career professionals for future leadership roles within the organization, aims to support Graduates in developing as leaders, guide their career, and increase their business talents and skills. It provides opportunities for Graduates to explore a broad range of disciplines across our functions and locations, work on a variety of projects, and expand their network.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an 8-week Orientation. Graduates will spend time learning the core functions of the business, networking with our Executive team, and traveling to our different jurisdictional areas. By the end of Orientation, Graduates have an in depth understanding of who National Grid is as a company and how we do business. They have also formed a network with their fellow Graduates as well as senior business leaders, key GDP stakeholders and GDP Alumni. Graduates also take part in quarterly development sessions with their cohort as well as complete a Capstone Project at the end of their first year with the company. About the Position The successful candidate will take responsibility for Analyzing and Reporting on our Meter to Cash end to end process. (e.g. Account Initiation, Billing, Payment Processing, Credit & Collections, etc) and support the Revenue Cycle Management Strategy leadership team. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to analyze and improve processes using data analytics and lean skills. Lead transformation efforts on how we currently collect and report data across Meter to Cash, and develop predictive measures to drive performance. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Develop & coordinate performance scorecards and assist in the delivery of RCM Operational Excellence initiatives in order to maximize opportunity. Monitor, analyze, assess and report KPIs trends Work collaboratively across functions to ensure alignment on initiatives, processes and deliverables. Conduct data collection and analysis, identify specific process improvement opportunities, inform scoping documents and support project deliverables. Provide accurate, transparent, and timely analysis to support project leadership in project decision making process. Clearly articulate performance implications of business decisions / choices, and provide retrospective analysis, as well as, drive forward looking actions at the project and portfolio level. Maintain, produce and communicate a relevant and impactful set of project and operational metrics designed to support evaluation of operational performance consistent with the project being managed. Leverage understanding of the business context to synthesize financial and operational data into meaningful business insights that highlight performance, risk, and opportunities at project level. Support process and system improvement opportunities by participating in change initiatives at project level. Proactively engage and challenge project leadership to achieve financial and business goals; work closely with them to meet goals and influence sound decision making. Develops and manages business partner relationships with project leadership and project teams in order to facilitate proper project performance information flow. Qualifications Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution Concentration in academic studies relevant to one of the career paths Graduated between December 2016 and December 2017 Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; official college transcript required for confirmation Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills Preference given to candidates with relevant internship experiences Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program January 8, 2018 Proven leadership experience in at least one of the following: College leadership position (e.g., student government, clubs, athletics). Leadership and/or volunteer experience, in and/or out of the college environment Experienced a full or part-time job while at college and acquired relevant work experience\ Alteryx and Tableau experience is preferred Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Access and other business software Minitab, R, Python, or other statistical tool is a plus VBA or other programming language is plus Ability to think strategically and identify critical success factors when developing strategy and plans for assigned area of responsibility. Possess strong problem solving, communication skills (both oral & written). Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and is effective in all manner of presentation settings (i.e. one to one, groups, peers and leadership).
