Global Development Leader MD Rogaratinib

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Development Leader MD Rogaratinib are to: 

 

  • Ensure the development of a global clinical strategy and the operational conduct of global clinical development activities according to the approved clinical development plan for all clinical development projects within the worldwide Global Clinical Development Organization that fall within the area of responsibility;
  • Develop new molecular entities from Phase I through Phase III and registration/launch, and development for marketed products designed to optimize product value e.g. Phase IV studies, development of new indications, or development of new formulations;
  • Accelerate, streamline and strengthen the global clinical development effort so that investigational drugs may be approved more rapidly and positioned more competitively in the international market place (including the U.S.);
  • Expand indications and/or support marketing on a global basis (for drugs already marketed);
  • Manage and direct the Global Clinical Leaders (GCLs)/Directors in a given Therapeutic Area (TA). These direct reports can be located at any of the divisional headquarters, i.e. Berlin, Wuppertal (Germany), Beijing (China), or Montville (USA), respectively;
  • Set project-related objectives and personal development goals with GCLs' and conduct their annual performance evaluation;
  • Develop and maintain a motivated and competent staff by assuring that hiring, compensation, development, and advancement are all in line with talents and expectations, and by working with key departmental managers across legal entities in planning, development and delivery of all services;
  • Interact closely with the Global Therapeutic Area Heads in Research and respective Business Units to provide critical medical input and guidance for the management of the Bayer portfolio within the respective group;
  • Proactively manage the Bayer R&D portfolio of the respective molecules in the group, including proactive search, evaluation and execution of licensing opportunities in close interaction with the Global Therapeutic Area Heads in Research and Clinical Development and the respective Business Unit (BU), and appropriate decision making by the respective internal committees;
  • Oversee the planning and managing of clinical development timelines;
  • Manage the clinical budget (external clinical grants and Clinical Research Organization (CRO) management fees) against the approved Clinical Development Plan (CDP) and approved resources;
  • Proactively initiate corrective action as needed.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Highly successful M.D. with extensive professional and academic experience;
  • Proven leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven people management experience;
  • In-depth understanding of the drug development and commercialization process with a base of experience of eight (8) plus years in Medical Science and drug development (From protocol writing to Medical Readiness Review (MRR);
  • Must provide clear vision, direction, and purpose in the different cultures present within the global Medical Organization;
  • Must embrace change and be able to work in a changing environment;
  • Strong communication skills to ensure that project plans and status are transparent, and that risks, issues, and results are clear to all

    involved parties;

  • Skilled in gathering decision information, negotiation and communicating decisions and action;
  • Must be able to execute his/her responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience and creativity seeking to work both independently and collaboratively;

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Board certification in a relevant therapeutic area.
