Field Analyst(Associate/Senior)

Description About the Position: Analyze data and Field activities associated with Matting, Access Road, Remediation, etc.… to provide relevant and up to date information to support decision-making and the effective working of Transmission Line Services for National Grid. At the higher levels this role will also design and implement procedures and policies within their area of work to improve the working of National Grid. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Working with TLS Supervisors, Contracts Administration Group, and Project Managers, FERC Finance business partners, invoicing and analyze installation removal and monitoring Matting, Access Road and remediation work by Contractors on all TLS projects. Prepare and write relevant documentation in order that all stakeholders are fully informed and all evidence or statistics are documented. Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize matting resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out environmentally safe and efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes. Maintain and provide information such as regulatory and environmental information in order to ensure contractors, regulators and other stakeholders are kept up to date with relevant National Grid policies, processes and programs. Monitor and review invoicing information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information as it pertains to field operations. Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit National Grid. Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to provide feedback on the appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules. Monitor upstream dependencies, facilitate construction schedules, and set priorities for the Matting Construction Workforce, to execute the work plan, evaluate/resolve planning and implementation issues, and to ensure timely delivery of projects to stakeholders Monitor and prepare functional reports regarding materials, Matting and Rights of Way access and usage Additional accountabilities include but not limited to : o Foster and manage contractor relationships that encourage open/honest communication and drive safety, performance, quality, efficiency, customer service, issue resolution, and project successes. o Assigned to Transmission Storm Room in Northborough or Field Supervision during weather events covering logistics, planning and materials. o Assist Lead Supervisors with tool rental/purchase including tracking of tool calibration requirements Drive Contractor performance through monitoring Matting status, assessing schedule performance, reassigning resources, and monitoring environmental concerns to ensure efficient project delivery and timely internal stakeholder support. Collaborate closely with the Construction Supervisor to facilitate constructability reviews, feasibility of construction, estimation development, and risk register development. Drive Internal and/or Contractor performance through monitoring construction project status, assessing schedule performance, reassigning resources, and monitoring environmental concerns to ensure efficient project delivery and timely internal stakeholder support. Continuously review Construction processes to identify and implement best practice, identify more efficient methods of matting, restoration, and manage and resolve Construction Planning issues and roadblocks. Collaborate closely with the Transmission Lead Construction Supervisor to facilitate constructability reviews, feasibility of matting and restoration, estimation development, and risk register development. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: An Associates’ degree in a business or engineering related area and up to 2 years of related experience, or 5-10 years of utility work experience. Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices. Experience with Environmental, Safety and Construction practices in a utility Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation. Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP, Invoicing, etc.…. Understanding of project management techniques and methods.
