Farm Manager


  • Manage day-to-day farm/agricultural operations in conjunction with an instructional program
  • Develop and implement annual business plans
  • Provide training to the community for farm/agricultural operations related activities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports, keep accurate records and meet schedules and time lines


  • Coordinate with faculty and staff on student educational programs
  • Coordinate farm/agricultural operations on- and off-site, including participation in educational activities, farmer's markets, use of farm/agricultural facilities for special events, tours, and other community interests and opportunities
  • Cultivate the College's ties with alumni, the surrounding community, and its current and potential stakeholders; maintains strong community relations with the public
  • Investigate and experiment with a range of agricultural methods to find practices that are environmentally and economically sustainable
  • Supervise and participate in daily farm/agricultural operations which include: soil preparation, planting, irrigation, cultivating, harvesting, and storing of crops and produce
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of farm/agricultural machinery, equipment, and facilities
  • Conduct orientation and training sessions for farm/agricultural workers, students, and volunteers assigned to the farm
  • Periodically inspect farm/agricultural buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify safety and sanitary hazards and initiate immediate or preventative maintenance measures; implement security measures to prevent theft and vandalism
  • Assure compliance of farm/agricultural operations to Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning health, safety, and sanitation
  • Develop an annual budget and makes requisitions for supplies and equipment as needed
