JOB SUMMARY:

 

 

 

The Library Assistant is responsible for assisting in organizing library services to meet the requirements of the institute and assisting in coordinating the functions of the library with staff, faculty, and cadets.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

 

 

In addition to adhering to general faculty policies and guidelines specified by the ACCS Board of Trustees, Faculty/Staff Handbook, and Chief Instructional Officer, the successful candidate will also perform the following duties.

 

 

 

                   Assists student as needed

 

                   Assists faculty as needed

 

                   Assists library staff as needed

 

                   Understands and enforces library rules and policies

 

                   Conducts orientation sessions in the use of the library, upon request

 

                   Performs other duties as needed

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, STANDARDS, AND TRAINING:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum of two years’ employment in a library setting
  • Employment in a higher education institution
  • Experience as a student or employee in a military college setting

 

 

 

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR SPECIAL CREDENTIALS:

 

None.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Evening and weekend work required.
