Director, Product Development & Management - SEND

Overview
In this role, the Director is responsible to manage the cross-border Send product for the US market, responsible for leading, defining and driving execution of the product vision, strategy, business case, roadmap, target segment, pricing, distribution model, commercialization approach and budget.
The Director is part of the Digital Payments and Labs team in the North America Region; and a significant contributor to MasterCard’s strategy to capture new payment flows, win in digital and support growth in core business.

Role
- Monitor and assess competitive landscape for Send cross-border in order to inform the product strategy. Leverage global learnings through our global product team. Act as the expert and thought leader in the space for the market.
- Define the product strategy and go to market for the US market, including competitive position, value proposition, target segments, product requirements and roadmap, commercialization approach and distribution channel, pricing, business case, product metrics, and budget, among others.
- Lead the execution of initiatives to implement the strategy and go to market plans.
- Train customer facing teams on the business aspects of the product. Support the customization/preparation of materials, demos, videos, and sales tools to expedite commercialization.
- Lead the identification and definition of new product features or product improvements, in partnership with customer facing teams (to capture voice of the customer), solution engineers, product architects and global product teams among others. Execute product design following Mastercard’s standard product development processes, from concept to launch. Ensure product strategies are turned into concrete releases delivered on time and as scoped.
- Manage the cross-border product in a holistic manner, partnering with other MasterCard’s’ global and market teams, to maximize value to the company.
- Accountable for product profitability and growth objectives.
- Actively participate in initiatives and collaboration activities within Digital Payments and Labs, the North America Region and MasterCard.

All About You
The ideal candidate is an expert in treasury management and/or cross-border digital services who has conceived innovative products, launched them at scale, and managed their growth and profitability. Digital product development/ management experience is required. Candidates could come from banks, brokerages, money transfer operators, or payments innovators. Experience in consulting highly desired. Also, although the Director will not lead software development, understanding software engineering and process management is highly desired. Candidates should demonstrate not only conceptual ability but deep analytical strengths and business acumen. Candidates must also have the confidence, communication and influencing skills to present to senior audiences and to influence peers.
- Significant experience in treasury management, or payment functions. Experience in cross-border flows highly preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify potential product opportunities and quickly set up action plans to capture them – including taking them through approval processes.
- Product management experience, especially in digital products – proven record of taking them from concept to launch.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Consulting experience highly preferred.
- Strong ability to act as a team player and create trust relationships across the organization globally.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to lead customer-facing conversations.
- Domestic travel might be required.
