Director, Global Brands, Aspirin

The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Global Brand, are to: 

 

  • Identify and value strategic opportunities for the Aleve brand:
  • Analyze global market data and draw top level conclusions;
  • Identify strategic opportunities & develop options to realize those;
  • Lead resulting initiatives with high degree of initiative and independence;
  • Develop and own key global brand building strategies:
  • Lead development and activation of overarching brand purpose statement/framework;
  • Lead and own development of key brand building strategies via MEx tools including :3C analysis, utilization of consumer segmentation frames, setting the target growth behavior, establishing brand benefit edge statement, full competitive analysis and leveraging key BCC capabilities to address key strategic questions: ‘where to play’ and ‘how to win’;
  • Identify and short list key global consumer insights that drive communications strategy development;
  • Lead identification and selection of global creative platform driving integrated communications activation;
  • Lead and deliver key global brand asset content for toolkits activation in Key Battle / BG markets;
  • Ensure consistent application/re- application of activated global brand strategies across geographies/functions;
  • Inform areas /territories for innovation search and development;
  • Define the brand positioning based on thorough understanding of consumer insights;
  • Lead the global brand communication strategy for the category and all included brands;
  • Oversee resulting communication development process from AB to final execution;
  • Ensure communication of global brand strategy throughout BCC;
  • Ensure alignment of regulatory and medical strategy to support implementation of all brand strategies;
  • Execute Innovation Pipeline/Claims delivery via market roll-out:
  • Develop and deliver ROPs to realize innovation pipeline value, monitors in market yield against Business Plan targets;
  • Contribute to development and creating pipeline of compelling, differentiated global claims. Leads activation in market;
  • Work with CID in business case development;
  • Develop compelling global DTC advertising campaigns with GBT partner markets:
  • Partner with global agencies (creative and media) to ensure highly impactful creative output delivering brand/business growth;
  • Lead Consumer Connections Planning (CCP) in partnership with GBT (Key Battle markets);
  • Coordinate creative development process (AB/STB/Final creative work) applying defined decision rights;
  • Own Identification and development of integrated creative platforms;
  • Lead development and align global media strategy and mix;
  • Deliver key Global Assets for 360 activation toolkits ( including HCP tools and POS messaging/ key visual);
  • Develop global Pricing strategies/ monitors global pricing corridors;
  • Own global pricing architecture- leveraging support from OMR /Global Pricing Manager;
  • Ensure effective global roll out of approved pricing strategy;
  • Monitor pricing corridors / implementation with global pricing manager/ Cu Ex team;
  • Deliver and execute with excellence, Brand Success Model (BSM) for global (re)application:
  • Lead execution of key learnings global OMR process;
  • Lead and own BSM (identification of brand success drivers/ best practice);
  • Support reapplication of proven success drivers and best practice in BG/MFP markets;
  • Support media investment decisions with GBT(key battle/BG) markets;
  • Ensure effective and consistent application/ re application of BSM in BG/MFP markets via global and regional workshops, Intranet, Link tools;
  • Support reapplication of key GBT initiatives/models to ROW country clusters via disciplined orchestration/execution- toolkits:
  • Apply appropriate GCBU resource to balanced growth and manage for profit markets;
  • Team/ People development:
  • Develop and fully support direct reports leveraging PMP / DD.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree;  
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in OTC and/or FMCG with solid track record of success. Required experience in country marketing operations with P&L responsibility; international, preferably global role preferred; category experience is desirable;
  • High leadership qualities, ideally in cross functional teams, strong interpersonal skills and empowerment capacity (getting things done without hierarchical authority);
  • Must be a team player with a global mind set as well as solid oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong and inspiring presentation skills are critical;
  • Strong commitment and will to achieve above market results;
  • People leadership (line management), ideally in cross-cultural environment;
  • Cross-cultural experience;
  • Innovation experience (R&D, Project Mgmt);
  • Understanding brand success drivers;
  • The GBD role is the leader of the strategic direction of the Aleve Global Brand portfolio across all brand carriers;
  • The role is essential to develop the portfolio towards a sustainable and positive performance in sales and profit;
  • The GBD has to deliver strong, impactful leadership at all levels:
  • Lead direct reports within the global strategic marketing team for this portfolio;
  • Lead the business strategically across all brand carriers;
  • Lead the global brand team (GBT) as a diverse, multi-functional team made of senior functional experts and key market representatives;
  • Lead the global marketing community made up of all brand managers/category leads working on this portfolio.
