Digital Forensics Incident Response (DFIR) Analyst

Description About the Position:

The role of US Digital Forensics Incident Response (DFIR) Analyst will be responsible to the National Grid US Forensics Manager for the identification, collection, analysis, and subject matter expert representation of responsive digital information as part of legal, business conduct, and/or cyber incident investigations within National Grid. This is an excellent opportunity to significantly contribute to delivering National Grid’s Cyber Security Vision. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Provide support to the Forensics Manager for investigations, forensics, E-Discovery legal matters, and external law enforcement agencies as well as incident management. Interact with business conduct, labor relations, internal legal and external law enforcement, and regulators, in terms of investigations. Flexibility to travel as role requires (may include global responsibilities) Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Strong understanding of the ACPO principles. Four year college degree in Computer Science or similar field of study and experience. Experience as an incident/investigator analyst in a large multi-national enterprise. Advanced knowledge and experience with Windows, Unix operating systems, as well as virtual hosting environments, and common applications. Specific knowledge of National Grid systems implementation a plus. Working knowledge of and experience in investigating malicious code. Experience interacting as an analyst with internal business functions, e.g. Legal, Ethics, HR, and/or with external law enforcement. Background of security incident management and response, security, and legal investigations, and the use of forensic discovery principles and technologies, e.g. EnCase® a plus Background with the use of E-Discovery and case management principles and technologies a plus, e.g. Clearwell®, nuix® Knowledge of security architecture including a IT network security (secure LAN, WAN, vLAN, MPLS, and secure network zoning and restricted network design) and database, operating system and application security. Knowledge of common vulnerabilities associated with operating systems, databases, networks, web facing applications. Prior Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and utility industry experience preferred. Knowledge and experience of SCADA and PCN systems would be highly desirable but not mandatory. Appreciation of wider information security related principles, likely to be gained in industry or from a consultancy background. Able to operate as a highly independent worker and as part of a strong team/collaborative approach. Ability to work in a team environment.
