This position is part of the Luling Dicamba Leadership team and will be instrumental in work with the broader team to establish a successful organization. During design and construction the Area Leader will be responsible for establishing roles, work process and infrastructure required to bring a new facility on line. A primary responsibility will be the development of effective maintenance work processes and training plans. The area leader will ensure the organization is well developed, trained, efficient, affective and has the resources and processes in place to check out the unit prior to start-up and once operational maintain high standards of maintenance excellence and equipment reliability. The Maintenance Area Leader is equally accountable for the development and performance of their personnel.

Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead efforts in developing required training programs for the roles in the organization, while partnering with engineering and training.
    • Ensure that appropriate documentation for training and area maintenance work is complete and appropriately filed.
    • Participate in the selection and staffing of personnel
    • Ensure SAP set-up, work plans, maintenance work processes and reliability systems are in place and operating effectively.
    • Ensure that the maintenance organization is prepared for checkout, water batching and start up.
    • Establish plans to transition the new facility from start up into routine operations.
    • Champion changes in organization and work processes.
    • Set direction on reliability, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
    • Own and Drive Capital improvements for equipment and infrastructure
    • Displays ownership of maintenance Activities; successes and failures
    • Driving towards Zero Unplanned Maintenance events.
    • Ensuring employee engagement along with proper work-life balance
    • Support Production with Maintenance work identification, scheduling, and execution
    • Budgeting, forecasting and managing cost to meet financial commitments
    • Optimizing people performance and development through:
      • Mentoring, coaching, and training employees,
      • Creation and execution of career development and progression plans for employees
      • Formal and informal recognition of employees to reinforce desired results
      • Providing redirecting feedback and following disciplinary processes as needed
    • Leveraging both internal and external resources to effectively and expediently solve problems
    • Exercising influence both within and across traditional boundaries to deliver outstanding business results for their team, plant and the broader organization
    • Utilizing KPI’s along with data analysis to drive business objectives and operational excellence
    • Ensuring organizational effectiveness through timely and effective communication and collaborative action
    • Networking effectively with peers and others to identify, share and implement best practices
    • Manages shutdown planning, scheduling and execution
    • Manages and coordinates the maintenance budgeting and forecasting process
    • Drives plant-wide consistency in maintenance practices and reporting
    • Drives as well as supports Mechanical Integrity Compliance
    • Collaborates with Production organization to drive cost reductions, reliability and on-stream time (OST) improvements
    • Strong relationship with the purchasing organization


    • BS in Engineering
    • 5 years experience in manufacturing
    • Experience as a people leader
