Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Instructor

 

POSITION:  Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Instructor (MacArthur Campus)

 

                         

 

STARTING DATE:  December, 2017

 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution is required.  Current ARDMS certification is required. Current certification in OBGYN sonography and Abdomen is required. Minimum of three years, full-time documented previous experience working as an ARDMS registered sonographer is required. Current CPR certification as a healthcare provider is required.

 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Current certification in vascular sonography is preferred. Current certification in cardiac sonography is preferred. Prior teaching experience is preferred.

 

 

 

DUTIES:  The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Instructor is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.  Clinical education effectiveness must be evaluated and ensured through a schedule of regular visits to the clinical affiliate/clinical education centers.

 

 

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and education as determined on Salary Schedule D1 of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees salary schedules.

A completed application packet consists of:

 

  A letter of application,

 

  A current résumé,

 

  A completed official College employment application,

 

  Two letters of reference,

 

  Copies of all relevant certifications as stated in the “Required Qualifications” and if applicable the “Preferred Qualifications” sections,

 

  Copies of all relevant postsecondary transcripts.  Transcript copies must show the identification of the institution, the identification of the applicant, and verify that the applicant has received the minimum degree requirements as stated in the “Required Qualifications” and if applicable the “Preferred Qualifications” sections.  The person chosen to fill the position is required to furnish official transcripts of all postsecondary education prior to the completion of the first semester of employment.

 

In addition, prior to receiving an offer of employment applicants are required to submit letters of verification from previous or current employers verifying the work experience stated in the “Required Qualifications” section.  The letters of verification must include the applicant’s beginning and ending dates of employment, employment title, and indicate if the employment was full or part time.
