Deputy Director Sales Training & Development - Oncology

The primary responsibilities of this role, (Deputy Director Sales Training & Development), are to: 

 

  • Provide strategic training direction to Business Unit and Division Customers, ensuring tactical programing supports brand planning, sales strategies, and goals. Actively represent sales training in brand planning and business planning processes by ensuring all programming and materials meet regulatory and legal requirements;
  • Partner with senior leadership in Business Unit and Division sales and marketing to develop sales training curricula, state-of-the-art training tools, materials, and related skills development programs to meet training needs. Direct regular training needs assessment activities and function as an integral part of the sales and marketing teams;
  • Foster a learning environment based on adult learning principals that ensures optimal comprehension, development and retention.
  • Stay abreast of training and development best practices and current trends in pharmaceutical, device, and biosciences industries, as well as the latest clinical information related to Bayer HealthCare products and its competition, in order to optimize the delivery and relevancy of training materials and programs;
  • Develop and manage the respective Business Unit and BHC Division Fiscal budget related to sales training activities;
  • Continually strengthen Business Unit and BHC Division sales training programs and materials through regular evaluation. Incorporate best practices. Leverage technology to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of sales training initiatives;
  • Manage high performing team of Sales Training Managers (STMs) and actively hire, training and develop STMs;
  • Direct effective vendor partnerships and Alliance Management relationships where active to achieve high quality sales training outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Two (2) years management experience;
  • Three (3) years demonstrated success in roles of Sales Training Manager/Associate Director may be substituted for this prerequisite;
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing and measuring training effectiveness;
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent, presentation, written and verbal communication skills, relationship building skills and computer skills (Microsoft Office);
  • Proven team player with ability to collaborate actoss functional areas and to work effectively with senior management, internal and external partners;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond flexibly to shifting priorities;
  • Capability to lead and motivate staff.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience at the Regional Sales Manager level;
  • Health Science/Education discipline.
