Dean of Students

   

         1.        Serve as a member of the President’s Executive Team, committed to:
Serving as a collegial, collaborative leader;
Promoting a culture of innovation and excellence;
Ensuring that student services are student friendly, customer focused, efficient, and effective;
Advancing the core principles of the college’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities; and
Promoting the college in the community, state, and nation
         2.        Develop a leadership team that seeks innovation, accountability, and excellence
         3.        Implement a comprehensive program of student services that address the diverse needs of the WSCC student body along the continuum of entry, matriculation, and exit
         4.        Provide effective leadership for collaboratively planning, implementing, administering, and evaluating a comprehensive program of student services to include:  Recruiting, admissions and records, judicial affairs, enrollment management, academic advising, student activities, assessment, financial aid, disability compliance, academic support services
         5.        Provide fiscal leadership in recommending and managing budgets and allocating resources to advance college goals, objectives, and strategic priorities
         6.        Supervise, evaluate, and develop personnel in the Student Services Division
         7.        Ensure the active participation of each Student Services unit in the planning and assessment processes of the College that result in the continuous improvement and expansion of student services
         8.        Demonstrate ethical leadership, loyalty, honesty and integrity
         9.        Ensure compliance with Alabama Community College System Board policies, Alabama Community College System office procedures, College policies and procedures, and recommend policy revisions as appropriate
      10.        Maintain currency of knowledge and skills through participation in appropriate professional development
      11.        Serve and chair College committees, such as Admissions and Financial Aid Appeals Committee and Judicial Affairs committee
      12.        Represent the College and its President to external constituencies
