Database Administrator / Developer

The Alabama Community College System office is looking for a full-time Database Administrator / Developer

The Database Administrator is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of database-related and .NET-based applications and services.  The Database Administrator will also assist with data requests, reports, and other related items.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  1. Develop, maintain and support ACCS and other ACCS-related web-based applications and inter-/intra-net based databases.
  2. Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of Cloud-based applications and services, including Azure, Office 365 and other similar services.
  3. Design, develop, maintain and support web services and other connectivity to various data sources and systems at ACCS and other organizations.
  4. Update and maintain ACCS and ACCS-related web sites as needed
  5. Organize and tabulate data using a variety of techniques including database software, spreadsheets, statistical tables, charts, and graphs.
  6. Analyze and disseminate data to federal and state agencies/entities along with schools in the ACCS; may publish data, or post pertinent data and/or content to websites.
  7. Assist with user administration and management of validation data in the DAX system.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES:

  1. Attend meetings and/or serve on any committee deemed appropriate by the Chancellor’s office or Division Director.
  2. Assist with routine and special requests for data.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

1.  Assist Division staff in user support and related help desk functions as needed.

2.  Other related duties as assigned.

Maximum salary is $77,500, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
