Corporate Banking Insurance Credit Analyst

  Works with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to manage an assigned portfolio of customer relationships. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Reviewing financial statements spreads for accuracy and consistency, quarterly trend analyses, quarterly monitoring reports and covenant tests in accordance with bank spreading standards and credit policies.
Analyzing financial data and preparing comprehensive written analyses, analyzing portfolio credit quality, assisting Portfolio Managers in preparing and presenting credit requests for Credit Approval. Completing due diligence on prospects, preparing trend analyses, preparing stress tests on portfolio, and maintaining a compliance monitoring and financial statistic database that tracks credit agreement requirements, receipt of customer's financial reporting requirements, and credit metric trends. Also responsible for special projects as needed.

The Credit Analyst acts as a first line of defense for the group:
1. Financial Statements, Spreads, and Quarterly Trend requirements - Reviewing historical financial statement spreads for accuracy and consistency, quarterly trend analysis (QTA) reports, quarterly monitoring reports (QMRs) and financial projections using standard software (currently Moody's Risk Analyst) for existing and prospective clients. Spreads, QTAs, QMRs, and projections will be prepared in accordance with standard requirements.
2. Covenant Testing - Measures, monitors, and tests a wide variety of financial covenants as specified within credit approval documents. Ongoing communication of covenant testing results to the Portfolio Managers and/or Relationship Managers or respective business line representatives.
3. Monitoring - Reads and interprets relevant credit approval requirements to accurately input monitoring requirements and covenants into a standard compliance monitoring system. Analyzes financial statement results and prepares reports to communicate financial performance and trends with Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and / or Credit Administration.

The Credit Analyst position is meant to be a position focused on learning and growing knowledge with regard to banking, finance and the Insurance Industry:
1. Account Management / Client Interaction: In conjunction with the Relationship Managers / Portfolio Managers, the Credit Analyst will have some interact with the customer / agent banks as appropriate. Credit Analysts are also encouraged to attend any meetings or calling opportunities to get to know management of their assigned portfolio.
2. Other Developmental Goals: Credit Analysts are encouraged and expected to attend Insurance Industry conferences, events, training sessions, etc. in order to gain experience specific to the Insurance Industry. This position is considered a foundation to becoming a Portfolio Manager within the group.

  Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of credit and/or sales experience in the financial services industry
