Description About the Position: Contribute to the overall planning, department coordination while interfacing effectively with internal and external customers, departments and organizations. This role will assist in coordinating, planning and scheduling activities to effectively and efficiently accomplish workload based on regulatory compliance, company and divisional goals. Key Accountabilities: Independently collate and analyze data using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department’s decision making process. Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes. Produce effective management information and reporting in order to provide insight on projects for more senior team members. Act as the primary point of contact, providing advice guidance and support to relevant third parties in order to ensure everyone is informed and aware of changes to procedures, schedules and decisions taken. Support divisional reliability activities by making sure all activities are scheduled and progressed. Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to ensure appropriate project paperwork is being completed in adherence to schedules. Develop relationships with key stakeholders in order to fully explain and support the implementation of National Grid policies and processes. Act as the first point of contact for customers/suppliers/business managers in order to provide support and ensure National Grid/business unit deliver against service level agreements. In addition, this position performs other support functions and participates in special projects as needed. Capability: Sees multiple relationships, identifying several likely causes or consequences of a situation to be able to analyze data and coordinate larger work programs. Sees patterns or trends in data or situations, notices when something is similar to a past situation to be able to recognize when situations are potentially hazardous or which procedure needs to be implemented. Uses direct persuasion to influence others, using basic data, logic or a solid business case to ensure all activities are coordinated in the right order and carried out to plan. Acts as first point of contact for customers, especially to understand their requirements, and takes personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly and communicates department’s expectations to monitor delivery and satisfaction. Monitors quality of others work carried out by the work teams, checks to ensure procedures are followed. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in a related area and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience. An advanced degree/credits is preferred. Experience of fact finding including knowledge and understanding of where to find and how to present relevant information. Experience of using project/contract management systems in order to understand and analyze data. Experience is often acquired through on the job training. Proficient in relevant soft ware e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of National Grid’s business operations, company policies and practices.
