Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for establishing a configuration management (CM) environment that aligns with the existing software development framework
• Establish standards that detail policy and procedures associated with CM planning, reporting, auditing, product scope change control, version control, CM documentation, production deployment control, and product component integration
• Perform assigned tasks in all areas of CM including implementing and maintaining tools necessary to support version and change control, maintaining and training users and project administrators, automating the version and change management/build/release procedures, facilitating integration with existing business systems within the organization, and analyzing code to create policies around deployments
• Use and administer the CM tools and maintain the bug tracking tool
• Ability to handle tasks for multiple projects is necessary as well as an advanced understanding of the CM tools and software
• Ability to adapt generalized CM methodologies and approaches to fit the existing business applications within the department
• Subject matter expert responsible for providing leadership in CM to all cross functions in the department
• Provide the leadership necessary to develop and subsequently formalize standard CM methods and tools across all projects  

 

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s Degree Required, Masters Preferred in Engineering or Computer Science
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a software development environment
• 2 to 5 years of experience using and administering CM methodologies which includes at least two of the following tools: Subversion, CVS source control, Clearcase, Visual Source Safe, or Rational CM
• Familiarity with SQL Server 2005 and also expertise in writing SQL queries preferred
• Familiarity with one or more scripting languages strongly preferred
• Experience in software development such as ASP.NET preferred
• Demonstrated experience defining and implementing end-to-end CM processes and tools
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to quickly understand the existing business applications and adapt CM methods to fit the environment
