Program Overview

The Comcast Center Cooperative Internship Program (Co-op) is a six-month internship program based in the greater Philadelphia area. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers.

Additionally, your experience will include:

-Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your cooperative experience.

-Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.

-Professional Development: Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions include speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

-Mentorship: Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program (EFLP) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network.

-Fun: Continuously develop relationships with fellow interns through social activities, community building, and networking.

Role Overview

The SE TIE team leads teams to deliver robust, resilient infrastructure to ensure 'always on' services to our customers. The team also provides automation, integration, and new enablement services for teams to deliver services faster, recover from system failures, and reduce errors when providing services to our customer base.

Co-op duties to include, but not limited to:

-Responsible for promoting the use of industry and company technology standards.

-Monitors emerging technology practices for potential use within the company.

-Designs and develops services to support one or more business processes under supervision.

-Helps to ensure a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions.

-Considers business problems end-to-end including people, process, and technology, both within and outside the enterprise, as part of any design solution.

-Mentors, reviews codes, and verifies that the object oriented design best practices and that coding and architectural guidelines adhere to company policies.

-Identifies and drives issues through closure.

-Has knowledge and skills in own discipline.

-Usually determines own work priorities.

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

-Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university that has a 6 month Cooperative learning track (Sophomores, Pre-Juniors & Juniors preferred).

-Major: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology,

-Minimum GPA: 3.0

-Background in Linux/Unix Administration

-A working understanding of code and script (GoLang, Python, Perl and/or similar scripting languages)

-Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, GoCD or an equivalent.

-Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud.

-NoSQL experience is a plus.

-Comfortable presenting solutions to senior architects.

-Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.

-Tracks and documents requirements for projects and enhancements.

-Assists in the development of solution architecture (both tactical and strategic) to fully manage/support enterprise needs, services, systems, and technology management.

-Interacts with departments to implement improvements in process.

-Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.

-Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries.

-Ability to work on a team.

-Authorized to work in the United States of America.
