Climate Business Manager (North Platte, NE) - The Climate Corporation

The Climate Advisory Services Team is seeking individuals for the role of Climate Business Manager in the North Platte, Nebraska area. The CBM will be responsible for the growth and sustained development of the Climate FieldView platform in their local geography.
The CBM will be the field expert in a defined geography, conduct training with certified Climate dealers, sales representatives and farmers, support hands-on selling, develop and execute cross-functional territory activation strategies, influence and motivate internal and external stakeholders, and provide leadership within key dealer accounts, including business planning for FieldView Prime, FieldView Plus, FieldView Drive and FieldView Pro.
Climate FieldView Pro provides farmers predictive power for decision insight at each critical crop stage - planting, fertility, crop protection, marketing and harvest. Climate FieldView Pro will be distributed via agronomic crop input suppliers and is a fee-based service that is complementary to our FieldView Prime product that was launched earlier this year. Climate FieldView Prime with features such as Crop Stage Development and Soil & Weather information by field is currently being utilized on millions of acres in the US.

What You Will Do:

  • Identify, activate and continually motivate all distribution channels to achieve FieldView sales goals while working closely with Monsanto’s Seeds & Traits sales organization.
  • Work in partnership with the Seeds and Traits Key Account Managers to coordinate cross functionally with key accounts, including senior management and internal stakeholders, to develop and implement business strategies supporting the Climate FieldView platform.
  • Partner closely with internal leadership to develop proficiency within their teams in positioning, training and selling the Climate FieldView platform.
  • Be the primary local product expert, supporting the development of product expertise with all channels of distribution.
  • Champion the development, and local promotion, of dealer and customer success with the FieldView platform.
  • Work collaboratively with Climate departments, including Channel Enablement, Operations, Marketing and Product to help guide a customer-focused business strategy.
  • Develop and implement strategies that increase local awareness and generate demand for the Climate FieldView portfolio of products.
  • Partner with the sales organizations across Seed & Traits and Precision Planting to drive market adoption of FieldView Prime, FieldView Plus, FieldView Drive and FieldView Pro; working with those sales organizations to identify, train, and activate select dealers to establish a successful distribution channel in the territory; work closely with dealers and farmers to drive the FAB’s (features, advantages, and benefits) of the Climate FieldView Platform.
  • Build close relationships with partner sales organizations and certified dealers and help these dealers become experts and advocates of Climate FIeldView Prime, Plus, Drive and Pro. These roles are field based and will be focused on developing relationships and believability with dealers and farmers on these market leading technologies.
  • Drive the business strategy with partner sales organizations; establish acre penetration, farmer adoption, active use and retention rates
  • Travel extensively to new dealer locations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferable in Agri-Business, Ag-Economics, Agronomy or Ag-Sciences) AND/OR 3 or more years of experience with business planning in agronomy with bringing new technology products/services to market.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to influence and motivate business partners and sales channels; strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, resilient and process driven
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience and proficiency in leading small and large group presentations.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive growth targets with new product launches
  • Ability to master value based selling and effectively develop, demonstrate and communicate unique value propositions for a market changing service.
  • Experience assessing, developing, training and expanding channels (e.g., seed retailers, equipment dealers, and crop insurance agents) to reach end users (e.g., growers), and the ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with these groups
