Client Analyst - Collateral Asset Base Examiner - Field Examiner

This position can be located anywhere in the Continental United States.

Wells Fargo’s Asset-Backed Finance (“ABF”) group provides direct structured lending in addition to the underwriting and distribution of asset-backed securities for clients with assets that generate long-term cash flows who access the bond markets through securitizations.

Responsible for performing on-site and remote client reviews on behalf of Wells Fargo Preferred Capital (WFPC), Middle Market Banking (MMB), Wells Fargo Securities and other Wells Fargo entities. Duties include the testing of client reporting for accuracy; evaluation of compliance with applicable operating covenants as defined in the finance agreement; assessment of operational, financial, regulatory and reputational risks associated with client operations; and evaluation of the overall quality of underwriting, collection, and management of collateral receivables. The review process also includes completion of comprehensive and well-written reports which are distributed to CCRA, client relationship managers and other Wells Fargo management. Position requires approximately 50% travel, which includes air travel and overnight stays. This position also allows for telecommuting.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial lending experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of accounting
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of asset based lending principles
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze financial metrics
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret legal documents
  • Ability to accomplish a high volume of work, with a high degree of accuracy, by managing time and prioritizing tasks including special projects and assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers in a tactful and objective manner
