Job Summary                                              

 

As part of the CBS Learning Team, this position is responsible testing and debugging eLearning and other online learning assets (e-books, videos, simulations, podcasts, etc.) as well as supporting the development and maintenance of e-Learning and other online learning projects.  The role will also act as the final step and contact in online learning issue resolution. 

 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 

 

E-learning/online learning Responsibilities

  • Lead the functionality testing, GUI Testing, Bug Closure, Localization Testing, Browser Compatibility testing for online assets.
  • Loading content – receive SCORM or other zip files and load into content management system, versioning, modify item and content object attributes in LMS, Staging / ‘push to production’.
  • Testing on Desktop (Chrome & IE Browser) & Mobile (Android and iOS Tablets and Smartphones).
  • Test and confirm LMS communicates with online courses to launch, bookmark and marking complete using network software (such as Fiddler).
  • Colgate Standards and Functionality QA testing and communication of errors to supplier and project teams who designed / developed content.  If errors are found, communicate errors to supplier and project teams who designed/developed content.
  • Ability to troubleshoot why a course is not working for employee if the current FAQs do not support the fix.
  • Create, update and maintain FAQs for GIT Help Desk.
  • Ability to assign digital assets in development to participants in Online Reviews and/or Real World Test.
  • Ability to test digital assets for new Colgate equipment/software requirements ex Flash player upgrade, browser upgrades, etc.

 

 

LMS Administration

  • Research and resolve LMS functionality issues.
  • Serves as a consultant in LMS products, functionality development methodology and application (eg: validation).
  • Trouble shooting technical issues in LMS.
  • Serve as an escalation contact for support issues for the HR team.

 

 

 

Other Learning Technology Administration

  • Work with GIT and HR Solutions to evaluate and test new functionality in Learning Systems.
  • Education/ Experience Requirements

 

Minimum Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelors in Information Technology or related field.
  • Certification/Diploma in program and software testing a plus.
  • Technical expertise in how online courses are built, browser settings, computer specs, mobile specs, etc.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of learning technology environments.
  • Know learning design tools like GoAnimate, Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, and others.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Learning Content Management Systems and other learning platforms.
  • Proven expertise using Fiddler software (or similar software) to confirm the calls are successful to LMS.
  • English: fluent (speaking, reading, writing and screen sharing).
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the following web developer software languages: HTML, XML, CSS and Javascript.
