Where the Chemistry Happens…We are seeking a Category Specialist, Transportation Procurement, support the execution of transportation category strategies and provide operational support for vendor maintenance. Category Specialist, Transportation Procurement (1700721) You will have a unique opportunity to support all 12 business units across multiple shipping/delivery locations and various functional departments. You will report to the Team Lead of Transportation Specialists and will receive project direction from the Domestic Transportation Category Manager. Formula for Success: You Will…
Lead project work to support category strategies that improve cost and service performance (examples include inbound/outbound matching, shipper of choice improvements, carrier performance monitoring & improvement)
Create and maintain all Carrier master data in Pastis Web, maintain vendor/carrier repository and communicate updates regularly to all relevant internal and 3PL business partners.
Create and maintain all Material Freight Group numbers (MFGs) required for Rail and Liquid Bulk.
Provide analytical support for major RFQ bidding events and ad hoc analysis to generate savings and better service levels for our customers.
During peak high volume workloads, serve as a team backup encompassing all modes of transportation (Marine, Rail, Truckload, etc.).

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years professional work experience required. Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance degrees, a plus.
Transportation, Supply Chain and/or Procurement operations experience a plus
Proficient in transportation modules in SAP a plus
Demonstrated ability to deliver results working in cross-functional teams required.
Excellent communication skills and ability to achieve results through collaboration with team members that do not report directly to position.
