Posting Job Description The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights.
  • Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy, registered, and that the required documentation is on-board the aircraft
  • Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements
  • Determines the aircraft weight and balance
  • Ensures databases are current
  • Ensures that all flight planning requirements have been met
  • Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas (when required)
  • Ensures an aircraft pre-flight inspection has been completed before the first flight of the day
  • Ensures all passengers have received the Passenger Safety Briefing
  • Operates the aircraft per manufacturer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and within aircraft limitations
  • Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws
  • Completes all post flight duties, including notifying the company of deviations to any planned itinerary or overnight location
  • Records flight times and aircraft defects, and reports all known or suspected defects
  • Ensures that First Officer has completed pre and post checklists are complied within detail
  • Ensures the preservation of flight records
  • Ensures the safety of the occupants and aircraft during its operation
  • Participates in the Safety Management System
  • Reports any acts of unlawful interference to the company and the appropriate authorities
  • Notifies the company and the appropriate authority, by the quickest means available, of any accident involving the aircraft (except where the PIC is incapacitated, then it will become the responsibility of the First Officer or Senior Flight Crewmember)
  • Must be able to pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 30 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as needed
  • Must be able to remain stationary, sit and reach for items in a confined space for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and otherwise position self, maneuver around the aircraft
  • Must be able to sit in pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications
  • Must be able to clearly hear verbal communications in person, on the telephone, and over a headset with ambient aircraft and passenger noise
  • Possess strong vision to see near, midrange, far and peripheral distances
  • Have the ability to grip, reach, hold and use other related gross motor skills for cockpit operation, computers, phones, and other related machinery
  • May be exposed to noise, high heat/cold, dust/dirt, smoke, fuel odors and heights due to operational/aircraft equipment
  • Must be able to participate and successfully pass a first class medical assessment twice a year 
  • Travel up to 100% of the time, including week days, nights, weekends, holidays and overnight stays
  • Able to work extended hours with limited scheduling control and be able and willing to report to work with limited notice to meet unanticipated business needs
  • Willing and able to work extended duty periods on sequential days, as well as a varied schedule, including early morning, nights, overnights and weekends
  • Minimum of 5000 hours of total flight time
  • International PIC experience
  • Airplane Multi-Engine Land Rating
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • English proficient, strong communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree (highly desirable)
  • First Class FAA Medical Certificate
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • CPR and AED certified
  • Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport
