Job Description

The Wholesale Platform Technology (WBT) team is seeking a talented, curious, decision maker that will bring a focused viewpoint to the role in regards to vulnerability management as well as the overall well-being of Wholesale and the Enterprise. Focused with a solution driven work drive with a need to partner with wholesale business lines to achieve the common goal of meeting enterprise standards and goals in the technology space. This role will have the opportunity to lead a small team and mold the day to day approach used to meeting wholesale milestones. This role will be focused on platform and service level opportunity for improvement and efficient focused processes.

The Risk & Compliance focused tasks will be primary focus for this role. Determining the best way to approach solution driven approaches and process which will sustain will be one of the primary focal points for this role. Ensuring that as risk arises and regulation changes the wholesale business has focus on solution driven day to day focus. Understanding “how to play computer” is important. Not having the tendency to rely on a toolkit approach to understanding technology is very important.

You must be a self-starter and have the ability to look at a situation and derive a solution that minimizes risk and maximizes the efficiency of the role and team. Understanding that being curious is the key component to solving the risk/compliance challenges place before the bank. Knowing that you must be able to make decisions in a very short window as well as plan for a long lead up to a impactful cross functional decision is important. The role and team members it will lead will understand the need for a clear vision of the wholesale platform and enterprise goals. Understanding this long term vision and tailoring your day to day leadership to accomplish team goals within wholesale is paramount.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application support experience, platform management experience, or a combination of both
  • 4+ years of experience in capital markets and investment banking
  • 5+ years of Middleware experience
  • 5 + years of computer application development experience
  • 5+ years of Java experience
  • 5+ years of Autosys experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the capital markets business and processes
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of application support for capital markets & investment banking applications
  • Strong business and technical understanding of end to end capital markets trading and operational environments
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of capital markets: quality assurance testing, high performance computing, middleware and platform management tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry regulations supporting technological solutions such as: SEC, FINRA, Dodd Frank, and Basel
  • Experience developing, supporting or integrating messaging technology such as Solace, Tibco or MQ
  • Perl or Shell experience
  • System vulnerability detection and mitigation experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented: programming: C++, JavaScript, or Java
  • C#.NET experience
