Canada Stewardship Lead

Scope of the Role:

The Monsanto Canada Regulatory Affairs Team is seeking a Canadian Stewardship Lead for a full-time position working in a matrix-based environment to provide leadership across a diverse range of stewardship functions. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Crop Teams, the Global Stewardship Organization, Functional Compliance Leads, and engage with commercial teams in North America on stewardship of Monsanto products. Travel across Canada and to the USA is required up to 30% of the time.

Key Business Responsibilities:

  • Enable the global product pipeline and contribute to securing FTO for Monsanto’s Canadian products by leading oversight of stewardship and compliance throughout the product lifecycle, inclusive of product testing, and commercial launch through to discontinuation.
  • Represent Canada on stewardship support and guidance for commercial operations within the internal North America hub structure
  • Develop and maintain an evolving product stewardship and quality management strategy, inclusive of validation through auditing, to meet the business needs of an integrated system of products
  • Effectively connect with the Global Stewardship Team and regional hubs to drive common stewardship culture, policies and practices
  • Work collaboratively with Regulatory and Commercial teams to gain alignment on internal resistance management imperatives, fulfill existing products regulatory requirements and engage with industry/academic/extension services to communicate Monsanto perspective.
  • Coordinate and support incident response process on regulatory compliance related to Monsanto products in Canada
  • Support Trait Quality programs and initiatives in Canada
  • Support and improve existing compliance information technology systems
  • Represent Monsanto Canada at industry meetings, on task forces and committees as required
  • Provide people leadership and support to one direct report (Stewardship Compliance Associate).

  • Bachelors (B.Sc). (Agr.) or equivalent
  • Three (3) years experience working in the plant agriculture industry in a role with diverse responsibilities including a significant Quality Control/Quality Assurance component.
