BPMN 2.0 Process Consulting Expert - Operational Resiliency (Business Process Consultant 2)

Job Description

The Business Process Risk Management Program (BPRM) within the Operational Resiliency business has recently been established to thoroughly understand Wells Fargo s high-risk business processes across the enterprise, analyze existing controls (and strengthen where necessary) and provide ongoing oversight and governance to help assure executive stakeholders and regulatory agencies of best-in-class risk management. This new program office will offer the right sort of candidate a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with all the exhilaration and challenges of a startup, the stresses of having to get it right first time, and, with sound planning and proficient execution, the fulfilling satisfaction of being part of the team that indeed gets it done.

This candidate’s overall responsibilities will include reviewing, analyzing and evaluating end-to-end business processes to provide a solid foundation for capturing and annotating risk management information. The role will work closely with various systems and business groups, throughout Wells Fargo, to ensure high-quality process descriptions. The successful candidate will have in-depth experience with business process mapping and will serve as a subject matter expert for the BPRM program. The ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude for re-engineering techniques to improve process efficiency, effectiveness and data quality. Attention to detail, ability to translate technical specifications into business friendly terminology and the ability to speak the language of the business are essential.

The selected candidate will report to the BPRM Execution and Operations manager of the BPRM Program and perform a variety of duties, including:

  • Analyzing end-to-end business processes, which are provided in various formats from multiple business groups
  • Working with business process subject matter experts to annotate potential risks, controls, monitoring and policy impacts
  • Interacting regularly with business subject matter experts to ensure meaningful and complete business process map(s) can be developed
  • Conducting quality reviews and peer quality reviews to ensure adherence to BPRM standards/guidelines and to bring forward recommendations for remediation
  • Providing effective and responsive day-to-day technical support for the BPRM team (reporting solutions, data models, SharePoint content management, databases, etc.)
  • Documenting requirements, writing specifications, and executing various test cases to develop tools that support effective and efficient capture of business process and risk information
  • Developing, reviewing, reporting on complex process maps and reverse engineering existing complex process maps to ensure all required data attributes are identified for new data models
  • Demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
  • Training and coaching assigned business group process teams to ensure understanding of BPRM standards and guidelines
Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business analysis experience or 7+ years of business process engineering experience

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of business processes analysis and enhancing operations to accomplish business objectives
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial controls and risk
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and risk
  • Experience mapping business processes, following BPMN 2.0 standards
  • Expert in Microsoft Visio 2013
  • Ability to manage concurrent tasks with competing priorities
  • Experience in technology, operations, risk management or compliance
  • Ability to build and leverage collaborative relationships with various business groups across the enterprise
  • Ability to anticipate and respond quickly to problems and spot potential problems early
  • Experience with a fast pace environment leveraging Scrum / Agile frameworks
  • Understanding of risk management programs and policies
  • Bachelors of Science degree or above
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • SharePoint experience
  • Data mining and analysis skills including ability to write complex database queries
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting solutions such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, PowerView, PowerPivot and PowerQuery
