Lead a team of attorneys to accomplish the goals in a collaborative manner
Develop patent strategies and competitive assessments to support the business, working closely with business leaders and global teams
Manage budget to ensure alignment with legal function goals
Prepare agreements and other transactional support in support of business goals
Prepare freedom to operate guidance to the business
Assist and manage outside counsel
Lead IP support for contentious proceedings

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering discipline required
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school required
Minimum 10 years of intellectual property legal experience, primarily in patent and trade secret law required Experience should include preparation/prosecution of patent applications; freedom to operate assessments; contentious proceedings at the USPTO and globally (including IPRs, reexaminations, interferences, oppositions); IP transactional work, including research and development agreements, licenses, service agreements and confidentiality agreements; IP infringement analysis; and IP due diligence in support of acquisitions, divestitures and other transactions.
Admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction required
Admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office required
Experience managing others and/or leading legal teams required
Experience working in a corporate legal function highly preferred
Demonstrated experience with managing budgets for a team or organization
