About the Position: Finance Operations, Analyst, Service Company supports accounting functions by reviewing and reconciling accounts. Enters accounting transactions using financial systems and is responsible for limiting accounting discrepancies to produce accurate and credible financial information. Reports to the Manager, Service Company, and supports the creation of accurate and credible results. Associate Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Compiles and enters financial information to prepare service company financial statements. Supports accurate and timely data entry, processing of transactions to support intercompany billing and transactions. Prepares records and processes accounting transactions and ensures allocation to appropriate accounts. Supports and collects Service Company transaction documentation according to policies and processes. Monitors and reviews net income, balance sheet and cash flow for accurate and credible data. Responsible for entering data to support Reporting with Service Company filings and compliance with internal controls. Processes Service Company accruals and transactions for proper account reconciliation. Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete accrual of financial transactions. Responsible for following US GAAP, SOX and other accounting standards. Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines. Analyst/Sr. Analyst Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Verifies, reconciles and updates accounts by reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate and credible data. Monitors and reports net income, balance sheet and variances against budget and historical data to identify anomalies or discrepancies and ensure information is accurate and credible. Responsible for accurate and timely recording, transaction processing to support intercompany billing and processes. Provides insights into developing Service Company transaction documentation according to policies and processes. Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete accrual of financial transactions. Reviews Service Company accounts and calculates financial adjustments and ensures proper account reconciliation. Responsible for following US GAAP, SOX and other accounting standards. Assembles and reviews supporting Service Company documentation and resolves any concerns to ensure compliance with audits. Compiles and reviews financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts for the preparation of filing and reporting. Ensures maintenance of financial records for compliance with accepted policies and procedures. Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines. Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements. Qualifications Knowledge & Experience Required: Associate Knowledge & experience in the following areas is preferable: G eneral Accounting principles Close processes Accurate and credible data Data entry Document management US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Month-end close processes Risk mitigation Analyst/Sr. Analyst Knowledge & experience in the following areas is preferable: Support function accounting Regulatory General accounting Technical Accounting Utility industry accounting US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Process Management Month-end close processes Risk mitigation Associate Qualifications Required: Associate’s Degree preferred with limited experience in accounting function. Ability to use accounting systems. Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework. Knowledge of utility service business activities and projects. Ability to review and resolve data discrepancies. Ability to identify accounting issues and recommend solutions. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written / oral communication skills and follow-up. Analyst/Sr. Analyst Qualifications Required: Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting roles with increasing responsibility. Experience working with support functions and regulatory roles. Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting system experience. Knowledge of support function accounting or related specialized accounting discipline. Experience working across department and geographic boundaries to lead risk mitigation, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework. Background in utility service business activities and projects. Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies. Able to assess accounting issues and recommend solutions. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills. Ability to build and develop teams of multi-skilled financial professional.
