Assistant Brand Manager Intern - Summer 2018

The primary responsibilities and learning opportunities in this role, Assistant Brand Manager Intern, include: 


  • An 11-week summer program with effective orientation and onboarding coordinated with other MBA interns by members of the Consumer Health Brand Management Recruiting Team;
  • An opportunity to work within a dynamic environment as a key contributor championing business building ideas and presenting recommendations to Senior Management based on sound business analysis;
  • A practical, hands-on assignment which impacts a meaningful mission and allows the chance to demonstrate potential by leading projects or initiatives that will maximize sales and profit growth for an assigned brand; and Competitive salary and housing options;
  • Additionally, the Brand Intern will have an opportunity, under the direction of the Brand Manager, to be responsible for one major project which may include:
  • Evaluating the attractiveness of specific consumer segments and recommending, as appropriate, how to position the brand against these consumer segments;
  • Recommending the attractiveness of new product opportunities based on factors such as market size, strategic fit and financial attractiveness;
  • Assessing competitors' strengths, weaknesses, strategies and plans to recommend options to compete more effectively;
  • Quantifying incremental sales opportunities via increased distribution in new channels;
  • Determining if consumer promotions programs are driving trial and/or loyalty profitably; or
  • Leveraging analysis to update management.

Required Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and ability to work in marketing, typically acquired through the courses within an accredited MBA program plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience;
  • Leadership, demonstrated through ability to lead projects, establish and deliver goals in a team or independent environment and work successfully with diverse team members while working within a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Integrity, supported by a proven record of delivering results, fostering open and honest communication, preparing well-written communication and presenting information effectively;
  • Flexibility, evidenced in partnering effectively and achieving results through influencing other team members and agency partners;
  • Efficiency, exhibited through strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations based on in-depth quantitative analysis, sound problem-solving and decision-making skills with demonstrated ability to identify key issues, consider customer needs, make well-support fact-based recommendations, and identify and implement appropriate actions;
