Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) is one of the company’s four main divisions. WIM businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.
The Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Enterprise Partnership team is dedicated to driving referral activity between WIM and Wells Fargo enterprise partners with the ultimate goal of building and maintaining partnerships to meet our client’s financial needs.

The Governance, Analytics and Partnership Support (GAPS) team within the WIM Enterprise Partnership team focuses on these three areas: Partnership Agreements, Reporting and Partnership Analytics, and Referral Support.

GAPS team has an exciting new position available for an Analytics Consultant to lead our referral reporting and analytics into a new phase. The ideal candidate will be independent, self-starter and highly motivated individual who will use their knowledge of available tools and technologies to enhance business intelligence and data mining capabilities for Partnership activities. The position requires a talented individual that has soft skills like collaboration, consulting, problem solving combined with knowledge of latest business intelligence, analytics, data mining, and management reporting capabilities.

Primary Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • The team member in this position is expected to be consultative and combine business knowledge and analytics in order to deliver actionable insights to business partners.
  • He/She should have mastery in performing complex analyses, and be able to data mine from multiple sources that span different functional areas/business lines/data sources.
  • The candidate will partner across WIM to deliver analytics and insights that drive referral activity.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and provide analytics solution design and consulting.
  • Develop solutions for appropriate BI tools to utilize and push the reporting and analytics environment beyond Excel
  • Compose presentations that are understandable to senior audiences; design, tell and interpret the story, influence the business partner/ outcome.
  • Understanding where, why, and how WIM, and Wells Fargo maintains data, and how to extract and manipulate the correct data needed to perform analysis.
  • Ensure integrity of analyses and reporting through rigorous attention to detail and validation of data including adherence to all compliance and security procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to data management / data governance regulations and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working with large databases to solve business problems including experience with either consumer or business relational databases
  • Proven experience developing and deploying management reporting utilizing business intelligence tools
  • 2+ years of experience configuring Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools (for example, Performance Point, PowerPivot, and Excel Services)
  • Ability to navigate multiple databases in order to extract and manipulate data to perform complex analyses and deliver key insights - Experience with Oracle, DB2, or Teradata including ability to write queries in SQL
  • Experience and knowledge of the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) division or related industry experience
  • Relevant Wells Fargo data/system experience within RAP, BDW, WAE, EIW, BMG, Hemisphere and MDSS
  • Proven experience using consulting approach with internal business partners to identify and develop business and functional requirements
  • Strong background in math, statistics and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and navigate within a matrix organization
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (with proven ability to develop financial models)
  • Strong process and facilitation skills with experience in project management
