Analytic Consultant 3 - EIT Risk Data and Analytics

Job Description

As a Data Analyst within Technology Risk Management, you will use data and analytics to build products and derive insights for our internal business customers to make fact-based technology and risk-related decisions. This is a new area of focus in Wells Fargo, and as such it is a very exciting time to join this team; you will have an opportunity to exercise considerable latitude shaping your priorities and problem-solving approaches.

An ideal candidate will be on the leading edge of Analytical technology with a passion for the newest and most innovative tools. Possessing strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are also important. This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams.

  • Drive current and future strategy by leveraging your analytical skills - mine vast amounts of data in new and evolving environments to arrive at specific and crucial information for the organization
  • Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
  • Demonstrate ability to explore and quickly grasp new technologies to progress varied initiatives
  • Act as key data lead to leverage versatile technical capabilities to drive the development, evolution, and implementation of data products, which enable self-service by data consumers
  • Explore industry trends, tools, and techniques
  • Identify and implement process, data, and reporting improvements for the organization

Business Intelligence

  • Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization
  • Develop prototypes and run experimentation for business intelligence tools, solutions, and techniques
  • Assist in development of standards and policies for business intelligence framework

Data Management

  • Drive an understanding and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions
  • Work collaboratively with appropriate Tech teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance
  • Build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality
  • Evaluate data management, data quality and data access processes for gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities; provide recommendations for improvement
  • Implement solutions and processes for management and governance across data quality metrics, metadata, lineage, data access rights and business definitions
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • 3+ years of data analysis experience
  • 1+ year of SQL or SAS experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management, in financial services
  • Risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tableau
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology process management improvements
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
