Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Advance Development/Rapid Proto Technician to support their Huntington Beach, CA location. This occupation requires performance of various production and developmental operations with advanced composite or non-metallic materials and structures. 

 

This position requires the ability to work a variable shift including 2nd shift.

This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Layout, layup, molding, mixing, bagging, curing, bonding, drilling, machining, stitching and assembly of complex parts and structures of advanced composite and non-metallic materials.
  • Work from experimental design or developmental data provided by engineering model-based definition/drawings, sketches, schematics, specifications, procedures, fabrication orders, assembly orders, mini work orders, diagrams and verbal information.
  • May setup, operate, maintain and adjust all necessary equipment in the performance of all work operations. This includes, but is not limited to ovens, autoclaves, vacuum pumps, air compressors, drill presses, mills, lathes, saws, grinders, routers sanders and dust removal equipment.
  • Must be able to assist members of the classification in the performance of any work operation of the classification.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification (Required)

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • High school graduate or GED is required. 
  • Composite Fabrication experience is required.
  • This position requires the ability to work a variable shift including 2nd shift.

Preferred  Qualifications

  • Prefer a minimum of three (3) or more years of related work experience.

Additional Information: This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
